If you want a visual image of me blogging, here you go. Laptop + latte = heaven.
It’s been a mixed week. I’ve observed a correlation between my mood and the weather. When it’s nice outside and I can go for a walk, I can clear my head and I feel physically and emotionally better. When the weather is rainy or dark, I find it hard to get motivated, I am more prone to headaches, and I’m more irritable. This is making me dread winter! I’ve yet to decide if joining a gym and walking on a treadmill indoors will provide me with enough of the same benefits to justify the cost. My Zumba instructor is considering adding a toning class, so that’s another option. Basically I need to find ways to keep moving and not let the weather be an excuse to skip my workouts.
This week’s dinners included a rare vegetarian meal. It’s one of the few my husband will eat without complaining about the lack of meat protein. It’s spaghetti squash with vegetables & mozzarella, based on this recipe. But in my version I reduce the oil from 2 tbsp to 2 tsp, and I use FF mozzarella. It makes 4 huge portions at 6 PP+ each.
I skipped my weigh-in on Monday, since my kids were off school for Columbus Day and my home scale had my up 4lbs due to large doses of headache & cold medicines over the weekend. Deja-vu, anyone? Now that the meds are out of my system, the scale is dropping again. I am hopeful for a decent 2-week loss next Monday.
I’ve heard really good things about Zumba toning – a great workout! Hope you get to give it a go!
Try the Meatless Meatballs from Trader Joe’s with that spaghetti squash. They are so good that Al will think he’s eating meat.
